The Model CPR-1, Transformer Coupler/Repeater, is required in a building or facility that has more than one power transformer; or an auxiliary or emergency power source, or an Uninterruptable Power System (UPS) that you wish to tie into the system.

CEPCO Powerline Carrier signals are isolated by power transformers, that is, the signals are limited to one transformer secondary. For this reason, if you wish to extend the signal range to cover the entire building or facility that has more than one power transformer; you will need to install a Transformer Coupler/Repeater; Model CPR-1, between the transformers.

This is an active device that connects to one phase of each transformer secondary. When the signal is present on one transformer secondary, it is automatically repeated onto the secondary of the other transformer. Since the signal is restored to its maximum value by each unit, there is no limit to the number of transformers that can be connected in this manner.
