TV Theft Prevention in Hotels and Motels

To protect TVs  
from theft in  
Hotels and Motels,  
install a Thiefbug ,  
Model TX-BUG1,  
in each room, and  
monitor them with an  
Alarm Display Panel ,  
Model RX-ADP  

Use the Thiefbug to  
protect other items such  
as Refrigerators, PCs, etc.,  
from being unplugged.  

You can prevent the theft of TVs and other electronic items that are provided for the convenience of guest in Hotels and Motels, by installing the Thiefbug, Model TX-BUG1, for each TV or other item you wish to protect. The Thiefbug senses when the protected item is disconnected from power, and sends a coded alarm signal, that gives its location, to an Monitor and/or Display Panels.

One Thiefbug for each TV or other item to be protected, is installed behind the duplex socket in each room. The installation is easy; all you need is a screwdriver. Complete installation instructions come with each
Thiefbug.

When installed, the Thiefbug arms one socket of the two duplex sockets, The other socket is unaffected. The DIP switch is set to identify the room number.

You can use an Alarm Display Panel,
Model RX-ADP(series), a Desk Mounted Monitor Panel, Model RX-MTS(series), or a Wall Mounted Monitor Panel, Model RX-MTW(series), to monitor the Thiefbugs at the front desk or other location within the facility.

The same Panel that you use to monitor for theft, can also be used to monitor the Smoke Detectors. See Application Note #03
