Apartment, Condominium, or Home Security System uses "Thiefbug" and Plug-in Modules for Theft Protection |
||
|
Apartment, Condominium, or Home Security System using Cepco's Powerline Carrier System eliminates the need for new wiring by using the existing AC power wiring within the Building, Facility, or Neighborhood (8 to 10 houses) for Signal Transmission. Apartment, Condominium, or Home Security System uses the "Buddy System" between Neighbors. Install the Thiefbug , Model TX-BUG1 in your house, apartment, or condo, to protect your PC, Laptop, and other electronics from theft.
Plug in a Buzzer Module , Model RX-BZM at a neighbors home when you are away, so that they are warned if your electronics is being stolen.
Install the Remote Control Module , Model RX-RCM to turn ON lights, horn, or siren when your equipment is unplugged. Plug in a Desk Mounted Monitor Panel , Model RX-MTS and monitor all the Thiefbugs in your neighborhood, apartment building, or condo complex from one location. |
You can build an Apartment, Condominium, or Home Security System that uses the "Buddy System" between Neighbors, with Cepco's Powerline Carrier Modules. The Thiefbug, Model TX-BUG1 is used to protect against the theft of electronics. The Thiefbug detects when the item is disconnected (in any way) from the AC power, and uses the existing AC power wiring to send a coded signal, that identifies its location, to Receivers and/or Monitors and Display Panels. You can protect any item that's intended to remain plugged into an AC power outlet, including Notebook and Laptop Computers that are plugged into an AC power socket while the battery is being charged.
The Thiefbug, which is both the detector and transmitter, is
installed in the electrical outlet box, behind the duplex
socket, where it cannot be seen or detected. Installation is
The Thiefbug is automatically armed when an item to be protected is plugged into the socket. Then when the item is unplugged, the Thiefbug is activated. It will continue to transmit for about one minute and stop. It is automatically rearmed when another item is plugged into the socket. At the receiving end, Cepco provides Receivers and Monitors and Display Panels suited for each application.
Your Apartment, Condominium, or Home Security System can use the Buzzer Module, Model RX-BZM, to monitor one or more Thiefbugs set to the same code. This is a self-contained unit that emits a loud "beeping" sound when activated. It is ideal for use in the "Buddy System" between neighbors in homes, apartments, or condos. One or more items of electronics, say your PC and your Laptop, are plugged into Thiefbugs. Then whenever you are away, you can have your neighbor plug in a Buzzer Module at his or her place, and be warned if anyone unplugged your equipment. And you could do the same for him or her. The Thiefbugs and the Buzzer Module would need to be set to the same code (DIP switch Setting). AND/OR Your Apartment, Condominium, or Home Security System can use the Remote Control Module, Model RX-RCM to automatically turn ON inside or outside lights, or sound a Horn or Siren, whenever anyone unplugs your equipment. The Remote Control Module is hard wired in the electrical junction box with the lights, or horn, or siren, as shown. When activated, this module will override the light switch. If the light switch is turned OFF, the Remote Control Module will automatically turn ON the lights when the Thiefbug is signaling. When the Thiefbug stops transmitting, the lights will turn OFF again. The DIP switch setting must match that of the Thiefbug(s). The Model RX-RCM is rated at 1000 watts. AND/OR
You can set it up your Apartment, Condominium, or Home Security System so that all the Thiefbugs in the neighborhood, Apartment complex, or Condos, can be monitored from one location, by plugging in the Desk Mounted Monitor Panel, Model RX-MTW(series) at one location. Each house, apartment, or condo would be assigned their own code (DIP switch setting). Then, when any equipment is unplugged, you would know which house, apartment, or condo. The Alarm Display Panel, Model ADP(series), or the Wall Mounted Monitor Panel, Model RX-MTW(series) can also be used in this application. This is a great idea for neighborhood watch.
